One of the charms and appeal of a home is the allure of space. Even if there isn’t a lot of it the illusion of space can be elegantly incorporated into the design with the right combination of light and color. Lighter colors are best used in smaller rooms and for more spacious interiors medium to darker colors are suited. Recessed lights brighten up a dark corner. Dark hardwoods make a strong impression as they speak luxury.

In this design we incorporated different aspects of light and dark. We used the dark hardwoods for flooring complemented by a neutral taupe wall color. As you can see there was plenty of natural lighting, however, in the areas with less lighting are either recessed lights, chandeliers or lamps.
