For the past several years I have made yearly trips to South Africa. We saw a need and decided to do something about it, we decided to help the people. We have come together with friends and have worked to collect extra clothing. Clothing that would normally have been donated elsewhere or packed away in storage. I take boxes and boxes, as much as I can package and ship on each trip. And the funny thing is, that it takes me longer to acquire the clothing than it does to distribute it. Within 2 days of being in South Africa the clothing is distributed in minutes. (Pictures below). And the gratitude is overwhelming. It sparks me to continually do it and broaden the area. More and More Friends and Family have joined in to help. It doesn’t cost a dime, just some of your time.

Sharing Across Boarders is the name my company gave to the outreach program. It is about collection clothes and other items but it is also about meeting and getting to know the people. What makes us different is that we can see a need but we also dive into the culture. We talk to the locals and actually listen to them. In addition, it makes a difference when you see the items you donated actually go to families in need.
